How to get here?
For those traveling by car:
From São Paulo, via Rodovia dos Imigrantes or Anchieta : Take one of those routes until you reach BR 101 (Rodovia Rio- Santos) and then head towards Rio de Janeiro. Drive straight to Maresias passing by Guarujá, Bertioga, Boracéia and Boiçucanga. Total distance: 170 kms.
From São Paulo via Mogi das Cruzes: Follow the Airton Senna Highway until Mogi das Cruzes. Then head towards Bertioga. At the crossroads after you come down from the mountains, follow the route to São Sebastião, passing Boracéia and Boiçucanga, until you reach Maresias. Total distance 185 Kms.
Obs :The journey by car usually lasts 2 hours 45 minutes, when there is no traffic congestion.
For those traveling by bus:
From the Tietê Bus Station (the main and biggest bus station in São Paulo): Take the bus with the company called Litoranea which passes through Maresias.
To make enquiries by phone call (11) 6221 0244. Pay Attention! Maresias doesn't have a bus Station. You must stop in Maresias by the cemetery or the 24 hours Bradesco cash point (ATM), be careful as this is not the last stop for the bus. You are now only 150 meters from the hostel. Cross the road and take the dirt track which runs along side the cemetery and take the first turning on your right. We are situated 90 meters from here on the left hand side of the road. The journey lasts approximately 3 and a half hour by bus.
Getting here from the airport:
From the São Paulo Airports Cumbica (international flights) or Congonhas, catch the bus straight to the Tietê bus station. Follow the above directions.
